| We will be certified
organic for our 2006 crops, and before then we will be ‘in-conversion’.
Being certified means that we have to follow certain rules and
guidelines set out by our certifying body, the Soil Association.
They will come and inspect us each year.
Growing organically means that:
No insecticides are used
Crops are grown in rotations to kept the soil naturally fertile.
No artificial fertilisers are used.
The site is managed in an environmentally friendly way, which encourages
wildlife and natural predators that will eat the pests.
See links for further information on growing organically.
